These prints are part of a larger series, which includes aquatint etchings and chine colle prints made after I found 'the card' (see print). My grandmother's younger brother, Teddy aged 18 and her fiance obtained jobs as stewards on the Titanic. Presumably they were pleased about this and saw their forthcoming voyage as a great adventure. As there were insufficient lifeboats on the Titanic, most of the staff lost their lives when she sank on her maiden voyage in 1912. Their bodies were never recovered and eventually the family had to hold a memorial service, hence the card.
