Royal West of England Academy Autumn Exhibition 2009
These aquatint images appear as an Artist's Book which I have hand bound. I was inspired to make the book when I found some of my father's war-time photographs after his death. My father, Wilfred Watts served as a navigator, in the RAF in World War II, and was awarded the DFC (Distinguished Flying Cross). It was quite unusual for men of his social background to be awarded the DFC (or even to serve as officers). His medal and various photographs are lodged with the National RAF Museum at Hendon.
My book of etchings will be on exhibition at the Gracefields Arts Centre, Dumfries from 23rd May 2009, and then touring various libraries until the autumn.
Two of these etchings have been selected for the Royal West of England Autumn Exhibition 2009
